Jan 15, 2007 · The 38-55 is a plesant shooting round. It shines with 250-275 grain bullets. Reloading needs will vary from one rifle to another. My interest is in the target shooting, but whitetails and even black bear would be quite within it's realm. The 45-70, is bigger. It takes more powder.
