Bloodborne doesn't have bad weapons. Not even the Rifle Spear. The saw cleaver is actually one of the best weapons in the game. It has a great moveset and is fast enough to deal tons of dmg if you can spam R1 3-4 times. The transformed moveset is also great for more range but sadly doesn't have the serrated bonus.

Honestly, every weapon is worth using. Not like Souls where some are crap. I've played through the game many times with almost every weapon, and just personally found that I liked Dex weapons best, but I think Strength weapons are a little easier to make effective and typically more praised in the community.
