I have the Sport King which has both the last shot hold open latch - right grip panel on which cutout for the last shot hold open is approx. 1/3 the way back from front of the grip panel and the safety catch on the left side of the gun with the cutout for the safety catch being approx. at the mid-point of the left side grip panel. If you just pop the new firing pin in with out fitting it then don't ever dry fire the gun. To clear the gun for storage, crack the slide open a tiny bit and pull the trigger. That keeps the firing pin from hitting the barrel breech face and damaging it. Such gun handling of 22's is a good habit to form and use on every rimfire gun, if possible.Best Answer. HS Sport King Not Chambering Rounds This may be a typical issue with High Standard. Recently purchased a Lever model Sport King without the slide hold-open function. Incredibly accurate but the rounds from the magazine kept impacting above the chamber and actually bent the bullet from the casing. Had to toss quite a few.
