Well Nubia just blatantly isn't a bottom tier. The early power of Nubian Archers alone is enough to lift them out of it. It is probably the best earliest rush civ out there.

Seven Seas is my favorite map. It's random enough to feel exciting but more reliable than Shuffle or Primordial which can be unplayable imo. Sometimes it's multiple big oceans you can connect with good Canal cities and build a super trade empire. Sometimes it's 1 big ass ocean and naval strength is viable. Seven Seas and Pangea. Seven Seas win because even naval civs can shine regardless of how the map is. On Pangea they're sorta weak, as they're almost always just on the sides. Seven Seas goated. Tilted axis + Got Lakes.
