08-21-2012, 01:01 PM. Redline MTL will work just fine in any Getrag transmission. If the car has a limited slip use Redline 75w90 (which includes friction modifiers). You can use that or Redline 75w90NS in an open differential. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

It's easy to separate the front half of the box from the rear half though. You really need access to a press to do it all properly, and a 30mm thin walled deep socket (I made one) to undo the output shaft nut. M50 manual cars got ZF and Getrag M30 manual cars came with Getrags. From what I have read the ZF is the more sought after and stronger trans for the M50.
