Apr 17, 2021 · MacBook Pro M2 Max external display flickering I just got a MacBook Pro with an Apple M2 Max chip running macOS 13.2.1 (22D68). Sometimes, depending on the content of the screen (a given webpage, PowerPoint welcome screen), the external monitor shows some vertical grey lines, either statically or flashing (see the latter on the following video). I usually use MacBook with LG ultrafine display, with my MacBook in clamshell mode. Also, when using Bootcamp, I use NDVIA eGPU. Here’s the problem. Recently, after using Bootcamp windows, I ejected both eGPU and Ultrafine display. After that, I started to get a flickering issue with windows update screen remaining as a ghost.While using integrated i7 7700k Display Port (or HDMI, doesn't matter), the screen flickers like crazy on 144hz, 60hz, 50hz EXCEPT 120Hz. What gives? Using cable supplied with the monitor. Tested HD and DP. Flickering is usually due to pc settings so you'll have to mess with them or just get a nvidia gpu laptop. 4k 120hz is only achievable on high end RTX GPUs and M1 mac Pro. I have a 1050ti it's outdated now, I don't get the higher bitdepth on RGB or ycbr422 but it isn't terrible.
