This time I parked the truck in a parking lot in line with a staight and flat parking isle. On start this AM the VDC and REAR DIFF lights illuminate. If I hit the rear diff switch the REAR DIFF light goes out and then ABS and SLIP come on. I can hear the 4wd engage both high and low when I turn it on with my door open. The simplest thing to do is to take it back to the dealer. My 2008 Xterra had the VDC/slip light on when it was delivered. Just took it back the next day and they fixed it. Not really sure what the problem was. I am currently dealing with this for the second time. this is what I am doing to engage the 4WD for snowy conditions driving this winter. 1. with the truck turned off. put switch in 4WD hi mode. 2. in the engin compartment remove the ABS 10 Apm fuse from IDPM. 3.Disconnect the negative battery cable.
