I was suspicious about the quality of Skar products given their price point. I sent the 1200-watt amp to a lab to have it tested. Efficiency was under 65% at 1-ohm and the amp shut down in under four minutes. It's fully unregulated and made only 975 watts at one-ohm. I guess I should have known better. I have sice replaced the amp with the Skar RP-1200.1.Ordered this amp to install in my 2013 gmc with skar TX components and coaxial door speakers and a kicker sub. Amp goes straight into protection mode right out of the box. Installed an older amp I had to verify wiring was correct and it worked perfectly. Emailed Skar but awaiting reply, will update once I speak to their customer service.
