Browning a5 problems.

When looking at the mag tube, it appears that the mag cap pushes down on the end spacer (movable end cap that the spring fits into) and this then blocks the last shell. Is there some way to fix this on my own. Install a shorter spacer, or follower,etc. Three of the 3" shells work fine as the over all length is shorter than 4 of the 2 3/4" shell.Empty chamber with the action pulled back; insert shell into magazine tube; let it go; shell springs onto carrier, carrier lifts half way, shell pinches onto reciever; everything locks up. I talked to Art ages ago when I picked up a shooter grade 16 from the 30's. He said that to properly convert a 2 9/16" gun to 2 3/4" is more expensive than most of them are worth. A recoil spring for a browning auto-5 "light-12" is only about $16, and would likely solve your problems, although a mag-12 like you own is one of the worst you could get for shooting skeet or sporting clays anyway. I find mine useful only for the duckblind, and intend on selling it first chance I get.

It won't eject fired shells and when you manually eject... the next shell feeds but the one in line afterwards dumps out the bottom. I was able to disassemble the gun and cleaned and oiled it well but it didn't help much.
