So by my measuring I should be able to get a 6" larger tire. Based on the stock 265's (about 31") I can get a 37" tire to fit without rubbing and without modifications. So if your oem tires were 31” and you went to 37s that’s a 16% increase. If your oem wheels were 17” then a 16% increase would be +2.5”. So similar oem handling would be on 20” wheels with 37” tires. Got the 35's on. They fit fine. Had a spare bumper that was already trimmed for 33's I had on another truck. Your not gonna get the best mpg. even with a tuned/modified 6.7L powerstroke. The 450 has the medium duty version of the Powerstroke and 10 speed tranny. The 350 is speed to win drag races up the Ike gauntlet and beat Duramax and Cummins off the line. The piston skirts are upgraded steel in the gen 3 powerstoke 450 ans up and still aluminum on the 350. Don't overthink the specs.

If you plan on towing with this truck and towing heavy, you.need.gears. 37/ 31.6 X 3.73 = 4.30 gears. The formula doesn't lie: New tire size / Old tire size X effective ratio = correct gear ratio. If your transmission is it good shape, then consider some upgrades like: -6.0 trans cooler.
